Home Sweet Home

We came home Friday, can you believe we drove the 5 hours straight through with out stopping, and Brooklynn only slept for 40 minutes the entire time? How we did that I do not know, I was doing my best to keep her entertained, and it worked! We had a wonderful vacation filled with relaxation, jet skiing, water skiing, volleyball, tubing and a lot of smores by the campfire. Brooklynn loved the lake and playing in the sand. She also loved the boat rides and jet ski rides, especially if we were going fast. (She is my daughter!) She started cutting 3 teeth while on vacation, she is getting her 2 front teeth plus the on next to the front tooth. Which means the last 3 nights we were there she didn’t sleep well. I will upload some pictures to Flickr later. Just wanted to let everyone know we are home and getting back in the swing of things!

We are Outta Here

We are on vacation! We leave tomorrow (Sunday) for Rhinelander and return Friday. So no more posts until I come back. So I leave you with a video of Brooklynn saying her new word "cheese" which sounds like sheesh. She now says on, all done, mama, mom, dada, dat (that), hi, and I swear she said shoe this morning. She also is starting to babble in sentences. Enjoy her eating her "sheesh".



Brooklynn is a walking machine! She can now stand up from sitting all by herself with out pulling herself up on anything and walk where ever she wants. She still walks with her arms straight up in the air though. Now I really can't take my eye off of her! By the time we get back from Rhinelander she will probably have walking pretty well mastered.
And here is a picture I was able to quick snap when I put pig tails in her hair. They lasted a whole 3 seconds! She looks just thrilled, doesn't she? LOL

One Year Pictures

I finally got the digital images of her 1 year pictures. I didn't order any pictures - I am ordering the CD so I can make my own collages and print them out at walgreens. Enjoy a few of them. I put the rest on Flickr. By the way it is HOT - we were out swimming and when I came in the temperture said 99. WOW!

The New Game

We have a walker. Here is video of Brooklynn's new game. She walks to us from her Dora couch and then walks back to the couch and sits down, then does it all over again. She can walk if she goes slow; however, she always wants to run and when she is going FAST she isn't too stable on her feet. Nick and I have been enjoying this game for the last couple of nights.

Cozy Couch

We took Brooklynn for her 1 year photos today. We did 2 different outfits and a family picture. Her first outfit was her pink tutu with a pink rose for a prop. Then they also brought out a box of pearl necklaces and a tiara. Her second outfit was a sky blue dress with white polka dots. Her prop was daisies. Let me just say OMG - too cute! I couldn't pick just a few photos, so I ended up buying a CD which has all the images on them and I get the copyright to so I can make my own collages and print them out at Target or Walgreens. Way cheaper than if I was to purchase some of their enhanced pictures. JC Penney just started offering this option. As soon as I get the CD I will post the pictures. I hate to say it but now that Brooklynn is a year, I am happy that I don't have to do the photo shoots EVERY month. It felt like I was always taking her picture and it got harder and harder now that she is more mobile. Her next photo shoot will be 18 months.

We (Brooklynn & I) have a very exciting day tomorrow. My cousin Stephanie is getting married!!! Yeah a wedding I am so excited! Before the wedding we are meeting my friend Sarah (that I used to work with at the gym and I LOVE and miss dearly) and her husband for breakfast at Panera. Then we have the wedding at 2pm. After the ceremony I will come home and get Brooklynn down for her afternoon nap. Then Nick will come home and we are off to the reception. I can not wait to see Brooklynn dancing with all the music. She LOVES music and has developed her own dance moves and the occasional song.
Enjoy the picture of Brooklynn relaxing on her couch. Mind you, this is her couch no one or thing is allowed to rest their head on it, lean on it or sit on it. That includes Mommy, Daddy and all her dolls and stuffed animals.

Croc-iffic!

I am so excited - it is not only double coupon day but I found fake crocs at Pick N Save for $4.99. I have been trying to find her a pair but didn't want to spend the mucho dinero that they cost. they are too cute!

Party Weekend

We had such a great weekend, busy but fun. We spent Friday at the lake with family. Brooklynn of course didn't sleep all day. Saturday we had her Birthday. It turned out perfect. We ended up having around 50 people. Brooklynn was pretty tired and cried while she was eating her cake. I was hoping she would dive right in to the cake and get super messy but she was a little too overwhelmed. Thank you to all our family and friends for making Brooklynn's 1st Birthday so special. I posted pictures from this weekend to flickr.

Happy 4th of July

Wow what a difference a year makes. Last year I was pregnant and waddling around and this year I have Brooklynn to chase around! I hope everyone has a GREAT and safe 4th with family and friends. Big Day Saturday

It has been a hectic week. We are getting ready for Brooklynn’s party on Saturday. We are so excited. We have a piñata for the kids, prizes and 1st birthday princess decorations. I am going to go get the food tomorrow and pick up her princess cake!

I have been working with Brooklynn to sign. She can now sign for: diaper change, more, food, and poop (thanks to Uncle C.J.) It is neat that she does it and makes it easier for us to know what she wants.
